Bajo la direcci\u00f3n de la agente especial Abigail Brand, la organizaci\u00f3n gozaba de gran autonom\u00eda y ten\u00eda como base de operaciones la estaci\u00f3n orbital Pico. Se sabe que ha utilizado a agentes encubiertos, como a Lockheed que trabajaba para SWORD espiando a la&nbsp;Patrulla-X. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> S.W.O.R.D conoc\u00eda la existencia de Breakworld, un belicoso y peligroso planeta m\u00e1s avanzado que la Tierra. Sus habitantes cre\u00edan en la existencia de un mes\u00edas terrestre que destruir\u00eda su planeta. Por este motivo enviaron a Ord para que se encargase del problema. Ord resucit\u00f3 a&nbsp;Coloso&nbsp;con la ayuda de la Doctora Kavita Rao y as\u00ed desarrollar una cura a partir de su ADN para remover el gen-X de los mutantes, ya que el predestinado era un mutante.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dicha organizaci\u00f3n  estaba al corriente de todo y decidi\u00f3 dejar actuar a Ord para evitar la destrucci\u00f3n de la Tierra. Cuando la Patrulla-X se interpuso, la agente Abigail Brand no tuvo m\u00e1s remedio que ayudar a los mutantes en una peligrosa misi\u00f3n en Breakworld. All\u00ed descubrieron que el mutante profetizado era Coloso y lograron destronar al tirano Kruun permitiendo que un nuevo gobierno tomara el control del planeta. Uno de los&nbsp;skrulls&nbsp;infiltrados adopt\u00f3 la apariencia de Dum Dum Dugan y se infiltr\u00f3 en el Pico inmol\u00e1ndose. La nave estall\u00f3 matando a gran n\u00famero de agentes, aunque algunos lograron sobrevivir gracias a los trajes contra ambientes hostiles. El fracaso en la gesti\u00f3n de la crisis por parte de&nbsp;Iron Man&nbsp;como director de SHIELD, ya que la tecnolog\u00eda Stark fue uno de los puntos vulnerables que usaron los skrulls y el r\u00e9dito que supo sacarle&nbsp;Norman Osborn, permiti\u00f3 al director de los&nbsp;Thunderbolts&nbsp;crear una nueva organizaci\u00f3n que reemplaz\u00f3 a SHIELD llamada&nbsp;HAMMER.&nbsp;Bill Rayo Beta&nbsp;ayud\u00f3 a reconstruir el Pico y SWORD fue reorganizada con Henry Peter Gyrich como codirector de la organizaci\u00f3n junto a Abigail Brand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuente: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enciclopediamarvel.com\/\">enciclopediamarvel<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recordemos que en una de las dos escenas post-cr\u00e9ditos de Spider-Man: Lejos de Casa se insin\u00faa que Nick Furia (Nick Fury) est\u00e1 manos a la obra en la creaci\u00f3n S.W.O.R.D. con la ayuda de los Skrulls. Pues bien, parece que esto se confirma definitivamente. Y es que,  las especulaciones no se han hecho esperar, obviamente con tintes c\u00f3smicos.
